FULFIL NEW REGULATIONS FAST

For the area of white goods a variety of regulations exists which must be observed before a product can be offered for sale. The European legislation thereby, is increasingly tending more clearly in the direction of U.S. product liability laws.

Therefore, it is now part of the responsibility of the manufacturer or importer to provide the user with very precise instructions for use in his/her own national language. To that extent, product liability has taken on a completely new dimension for the manufacturer as a result of EU legislation since 2005. In Germany, the new directives are implemented through the GPSG (Equipment and Product Safety Law). According to its terms, manufacturers are required to describe comprehensively and in full detail what a device may be used for and what it may not be used for. Of course, a metrological check must be carried out in advance in order to be able to guarantee that as far as possible any danger is ruled out. It is important, thereby, to take note that it is essentially a matter of two factors: the assessment of the equipment in terms of both its electrical safety and the interference emitted and immunity in the sense of EMC.

The EMC Competence Center tests all kinds of home appliance like vacuum cleaners, presses, stirrers, irons, coffee machines, toasters, blenders, microwave ovens, refrigerators, hotplates, washing machines, dishwashers, garden pumps etc.. In addition, it also tests hand power tools like drills, grinders, electrical saws, gardening tools and many more.
