PRE-TESTS CUT COSTS.

Complexity in the semiconductor area is increasing exponentially. Semiconductors of the latest generation carry out operations which lie in the Gigahertz range. The increasingly rapid computing processes and the ever higher r integration of different operations, naturally generate corresponding electromagnetic emissions which it is necessary to test.

One of the strengths of the EMC Competence Center – according to what we hear from our customers – is that we already offer inexpensive EMC pre-tests of semiconductors in the development stage. In this context, comparative tests of various prototypes or similar products are conducted, providing development with important data material on EMC performance. A semi-conductor which is ‘cleanly’ designed with respect to EMC criteria, can usually then take the hurdle of market qualification without problems - and do so without needing the installation of costly suppressing components.

The EMC Competence Center checks semiconductors for all areas of use, in other words, wherever it is a matter of verifying data patterns and to conduct emission and immunity tests: that includes, for example, IC, , IGBTs, ASICs, power controllers, hybrid ICs, etc. To this end, internationally recognized measuring methods, e.g. SAE, IEC, ISO and many more, are used.
